Biltmore House

Biltmore House & Gardens

Biltmore Estate is magical. Our grand Beaufort House B&B is just a few miles from the 1895 French Renaissance castle built by George W. Vanderbilt. In fact, both homes were built the same year!

Surrounding America's largest house is miles of countryside to explore - including 75 acres of beautiful gardens, fantastic winery, shops, restaurants, hiking trails and more.

Biltmore Tour Tips

  • Plan ahead. Purchase tickets in advance to secure the house tour time that fits your travel schedule the best. Peak days sell-out in advance. See ticket specials below!
  • Spend the day (or two)! After a hearty breakfast at Beaufort House, you'll be ready for a full day of exploring.
  • Wear very comfortable walking shoes!
  • Even though you have tickets, stop by the welcome center to watch the intro video.
  • After you enter the gate at Biltmore House, you'll drive about 2 miles to parking areas. Shuttles are available from the parking lots to the front door of the house.
  • Take the self-guided house tour first. Take your time inside the house, since there is much to see. Allow about 2 hours.
  • When you exit the house tour, you'll be near the Stable Courtyard with shops and the Stable Cafe - a fantastic spot for lunch.
  • After resting during lunch, walk to the gardens adjacent to the house. The gorgeous Italian Gardens and ponds are adjacent to the house. The Walled Garden is the top spot - and don't miss the adjacent Conservatory. It's about an easy mile walk round-trip from the house. Find a network of walking paths to explore. Venture farther through the Azalea Garden to the Bass Pond.
  • Return to your car to drive to the Winery and Antler Hill Village area. A wine tasting is included in your ticket, so don't miss that! Browse the shops and exhibition at the Legacy.
  • Next to Antler Hill Village is the Farm complete with animals to see and historic barn full of farm equipment.
  • If you want to explore more of the Biltmore grounds, book an outdoor activity or rent a bike to ride the Greenway by the river. Or hike on your own on their network of scenic trails.
  • The Christmas season is the busiest at Biltmore. If possible, visit midweek for less crowds! Book with us well in advance especially on weekends and for candlelight tours.
